In dramatic recent happenings, emissaries from from Kohlingen and Brogdenstein, backed by a mob of irate citizens, visited Cordor City Hall to demand that the Duke join their crusade to rid the island of the Thayvians. After hearing about the previous events which took place in Kohlingen and Brogdenstein, both of which resulted in the local Thayvian Crafters being expelled, the Duke consented to expel Cordor's own local Red Wizard.

Wary from being driven from Kohlingen and Brogdenstein, the Thayvians in Cordor were all too ready. Having taken over the orphanage, keeping the children hostage in exchange for a certain crystal being held at the Tower of Mystra. In an uncharacteristically rash move by a Knight of Law, however, the Thayvian negotiator was killed, and violence erupted. Some adventurers attempted to enter the building from a rear window, but were quickly cut down by waiting guards and traps. Negotiations were closed, and the scene quickly deteriorated into a warzone.

Fire broke out inside the orphanage, and tragically, many children burned to death as the wizards and their mercenaries escaped into the sewers below. Ice storm spells, in a careless attempt to put out the flames, hastened the collapse of the roof. Before it fell, however, a rescue team did manage to drag out the charred bodies of some of the children, as well as their fallen comrades - a mere few of whom were able to be restored by local clerics. The rest were laid to rest in a somber mass burial.

After the total collapse of the orphanage, some of the fleeing Thayvians were spotted in the sewers - bringing the few remaining children with them as hostages. Sadly, this rescue attempt too was bungled, and all but one died as careless would-be heros set off trap after trap.

In the end, those of the Red Wizards who remained behind were all cut down, and only a few escaped to the western tunnels and freedom. The Duke summarily issued a proclamation that all Thayvians are hereby banished from Cordor on pain of death. Retalitation is feared when word returns to the land of Thay.

With the orphanage destroyed, the Duke declared that the surviving children could remain in city hall for the time being.

All three of them.

Chill, who had been with Krin Shadowflame and Valari Brightstar when Jaqueline came to ask for Krin's aid in the matter, panicked when Ruce ordered them to scatter, and returned to her forest glade where she stayed for the rest of the day.

*He walks outstrapping his armor and trying to make it fit better. He glances to his right and sees the smoke coming from the Orphanage. He runs to the Orphanage and hears about the events from bystanders.

*Gamall returned home from Dancing School in Shadowscape and soon heard about the tragic loss at the Orphanage from a local guard*

"'Tis was fate I assume. Never shall Interpreter Gamall be used as a tool for a pety minded negotiator. I pity the poor childrens souls." she uttered as she knelt once again at "Eva's Tree" in Cordors Outskirts. Drawing the powers of the glyphs from the very shapes in the stone memorial plaque.
She wondered what had happened to her old carers, whether they were dead too. Or if any of the her fellow children who she fancied as a new potential "body" had been slain.
She shook her head, pondering what had brought these mortal men of arcane magics to fear so much for their proffession that they would sought to threatening a childs life. Even she wouldn't resort to such a thing.
"Perhaps I should pay 'homage' to the few children now dwelling at the dukes hall. Hehehehehe." she skipped off in her usual elusively childish way towards the city.

// a shame I missed this.

Ana'Dalhar was seen exiting the burning building seconds before it collapsed, two children in her arms. She dropped them at her feet and made motion to leave, but could not leave all the crying and wounded. She was last seen healing the injured, then heading back to the duke's hall carrying one boy near death, following the guard captain. Upon his return she was gone and the injured were fully healed. She had slipped out hopeing not to be recognized by any of her own kind. Althought fully robed and helmed, she still stood out quite a bit, revealing her face only to the woman inside the temple that she had to heal.

Note: This is only the tale from Sina's point of view and I gloss over a lot of it, but special thanks to Josiah Deepwarden(Sithalvis) for being a svirfneblin in the right place a the right time.

She smelled of smoke and death and her red robes had begun to drip with sweat.Voices rang out from the crowd from time to time, discouraging voices who told her it was useless to continue. A reproachful word back to them only brought more jeers so she silenced herself, pushing down the anger and sorrow she felt, throwing herself at the task at hand. Salandra's strength coursed through her body as she worked allowing her to lift burdens far too heavy for the small woman. Such was Her way, small miracles of the body for now. Still though, her hand would catch upon some sharp stone, making her hands slick with her own blood. It stung but momentarily, the wounds closing up on their own. She was thankful for the enchantments her clothing bore.

When at last most of the rubble was cleared she took one of the many helpers to the side a small, grey-skinned gnome and prayed for Salandra's protection and strength. He could go where she could not. He had knowledges she did not. All she had was faith and prayers and that had to be enough to aid. As she watched him sllip through the window, she held out little hope that there would be any survivors, but the recovery of even a few bodies, either priestess or orphan, must be attempted.

As he passed out the first body to the awaiting arms of one of the women, a small delicate body perhaps once, but now a charred remain, barely recognizeable as even human. Her heart felt sorrow anew. Flies buzzed in the air like buzzards, landing on angry sores that had not ashed over.

Commotion behind her as the Hellbard, Casper Meche comes upon the scene. He pushes his way to the fore, just

A crash is heard from inside and her heart skips a beat, words of healing readied upon her lips, should need arise.

"I'm, "the svirfneblin grunts once, "Fine." He huffs and puffs as if dragging a larger load than himself.

Commotion behind her as the Hellbard, Casper Meche comes upon the scene. He pushes his way to the fore, just as a large pile of bones clatters out onto the cobblestones,

"Sina, " he laughs in disbelief and incredulity, "Tell me they got out...."

She looks at the small broken form on the cobblestone, "This... is the only way I'm affraid." She tries to sound strong."Three.. is all that remain." Her shoulders hunch over as she hangs her head, sorrow overcoming any further attempt at speech.

Through the commotion of the crowd, questions about where the other children now arise. Are they within the Duke's hall and safe? But Sina's attention turns to the svirfneblin who's name she has not even had the time to ask for. "So.. there are no others to find?"

"None..." he repies. "A shame when a deep gnome older than yer grand pappy has to do everything because this towns half full of vultures . . . "looking pittyingly to the Salandrians" Ye lasses get some rest soon, doubt ye'll get much more help than the small bit offered by those two lads..." And with that he sighs and hobbles off leaning on a cane.

With a ressonance which would rock Hell itself, Capser raises his voice in a scream of outrage and ire. Cracks form in the debris blocking the entry way and leaves those closest to him with ringing ears. Sina herself is stunned for a moment by the sheer power of his voice, and it is only with the presence of the giantess Sharina that she finds her own once again, asking for Sharina's aid.

There is much commotion for more hands have joined to move the impossibly large boulders which block the entrance, many do not wish to leave the debris and hinder the giantess's progress. The outrage of the Hellbard does little for the situation and although she can feel too, welling from deep within herself, she pushes it away, for anger does not bring back the dead. A gentle touch upon Casper's shoulder she tries to calm him along with Valkirya.

"We.. do not desire vengeance for those who have fallen..." speaks Sina "We simply wish to recover the fallen... please.."

Soon it becomes apparent that Sharina herself has become trapped within the debris. Llewyn becomes distraught and Sina leads him away from the wreckage trying to comfort her despondent friend. All she can do at this point is watch and wait. The minutes tick by and a loud groaning of timbers is heard, a crash and then with a rumble and creaking, Sharina bursts out of the wreckage in her full size, pushing debris out of the way.

With the arrival of the Cordor guards, there is little hope to explore the wreckage further for the fallen or survivors. Sina stands there for a moment and an ache grips her shoulder.

"Move" The cold dead voice says."I said move" She can barely see, but the old wounds know he's there. Ais.

He said a few things but no one seemed to heard him...everyone holding there eye's on Ais. A foolish man sat in the pentagram where Ais came from, where there stood three dragon statue's. He meditate and got fried by a strange fire. Suspisous towards tho these childrens being alive after so long time being whole again and people accepting that something grotesque and undead like returned them is not good he thinks.

//Dialouge written from memory, please forgive any mistakes. I think I got the gist of it, at least. It’s really really long and I apologize for that, but it was a big event that seems to’ve affected my character permanently, so I at least wanted to document something so that people know why she’s going to be… off for a good long time.\\

“I have a job for you two.”

A job.

Just like Kohl, just like Brog. “Silvia, messenger of Alassra,” a few pushes in the right direction, a bit of spying, pinch of espionage, nothing to worry about. Just the way she liked it, in fact. Didn’t mind lying for a good cause. Hell, she didn’t mind dying for one.

“It’s going to be a bit different this time.”

Okay, he’ll get the public riled, I sneak about. It’s what I do. I’m good at it. I can handle this.

The Thay wizard didn’t take long to show up, and she took her opportunity, slipping into the Enclave just as he shut and locked the door.

“Are the others in place?”

“If not now, soon.”

“Good… the duke will be too soft to act against us once we’ve secured the hostages.” He waved a dismissive hand, and the wizard left. Of course, she followed him. Her first mistake. The damn mage disappeared into thin air, like they’d been doing the whole damn time. She should’ve been ready for that. She wasn’t.

With no more leads she prowled Cordor, mulling over the Wizards’ conversation. In her panic, she warned Eary and Metalin, in case they planned to take hostages from the streets…

But they would be weak… vulnerable…

She got there too late. The orphanage windows were already boarded, she could hear voices just inside, shuffling, but made nothing out. She was no good with locks. Hardly could open a damn door when she first came to Amia. Smashing the windows wasn’t an option.

And then, a stroke of luck. After the Thay and Law Knight appeared, so did another woman, who nonchalantly picked the lock, took a casual glance inside, then left. The Gods themselves must have been looking down on her.

They weren’t.

Traps. Everywhere. The panicked caretaker, begging her to leave for the lives of the children. “They’ll kill us all,” she said, and Alanna paid no heed.

None.

She peered around the corner, and in her blindness, attempted to jump over the pressure plate blocking entry. She missed.

She was dead before she even knew what happened, the orphanage burst into flames.

And then, Vyashir.

He raised her and disabled the traps.

All but one. After she jumped over it, he activated a fire trap, and she watched the charred body of her lover fall to the ground without protest.

“Get... the… children…”

She couldn’t even think about him yet.

Two bone golems, four greater Thay wizards, and another locked door.

Hells. That’s where she was. The Hells. It wasn’t happening, really, but she’d humor the Nine for now.

She dragged Vyashir’s body from the burning building when another explosion rocked it dangerously, handing him off to a person she couldn’t even see, another random body in the panicking mob that stood in front of the orphanage, most barking orders, none following.

The Thay were gone. She opened the door to find the charred corpses of Valafein and Lila, who, she could only guess, ran in to save her when the explosion went off.

Even that damned drow was helping. Helping with the corpses. The pile of child corpses.

Something in her brain went numb. She grabbed two of the children’s bodies, badly burned, nearly piles of ash, unsalvageable by even the strongest of clerics, and ran out the door. Passing the body of the one who came to save her.

When she got out, the roof collapsed.

--

There was no time even to grieve. It would have to wait. The Thay had escaped with more children, fleeing to the sewers with their last chance at getting what all this carnage was for.

She’d get them. She’d get them back if it was the last thing she ever did.

It should’ve been the last thing.

More traps. More gods- damned traps. She set off the first one. It should’ve been enough. They should’ve *gotten the point:* traps!, don’t move or you’ll *die*.

But they didn’t.

They set off all but one.

Killed all but one.

She surfaced with the others, with Valafein, who was, miraculously, in one piece. How, she knew not. Suspected Vyashir.

She followed Eary to the Duke’s hall, numbly hearing them taking the blame all on themselves. “I’m sorry I wasn’t quick enough.” “I’m sorry I wasn’t good enough.”

If only they knew.

Krin carried herback to the tower, passed out from exhaustion in his arms, the tears on her cheeks white tracks in the ash covering her face.

She slept fitfully.

A circle. The charred corpses of children, of her friends, all pointing accusingly, their faces a horrific mass of ash and burnt flesh. And then Horace. The only father figure she ever had, standing solemnly in the corner, head bowed in shame, the familiar smirk gone, his eyes without the twinkle and play of light she was so used to.

She had failed them

She had killed them.

And there was nothing she could do about it.

Torin will remember but one part of the entire night's events...

Seeing the explosion, screaming Alanna's name, and with that one word, sending three people to their doom while he watched quietly.

"Should've done more, all I did was annoy people in the streets, heh..."

// A very long account of the events that took place from Jaqueline Fend's point of view

Jaqueline Fend stepped out of Town Hall, nervous and partially worried about the "investigation" into the Red Wizard's affairs. The meeting with the Duke Montgomery left a bad taste in her mouth as the townspeople's, including her friend Valafein and the man known as Torin, expressed their built up anger over the Thayvian's under-the-table dealings.

"If the Thays are provoked...the Tower is still recovering from Forrstakkr...." She shakes her head at the thought.

The townsfolk gathered behind the Cordorian Knight of Law as he headed over to interrogate the Red Wizards in West Cordor. Jaqueline followed suit, fearful but determined to uphold her duties. Even though she is still unofficially a Weave Knight in training....she takes it upon herself the heavy burden of representing the Tower of Mystra.

Jaqueline walks into the Thayvian shop where the Red Wizard and Cordorian Knight exchange words...apparently missing what was being said save for the Thay's beckoning to follow him. The Red Wizard led the gathering, now including the esteemed Uberuce Lieutenant of the Weave Knights, of townsfolk to East Cordor in front of the Orphanage where he began to speak horrid words.

"Return to us the Mythal Crystal from the Tower of Mystra and we shall depart....or else the children will suffer!!!" spat the evil magus in the face of the Cordorian Knight of Law.

At that moment, Jaqueline's heart froze as the thought of the Tower's actions, resulting in the destruction of innocent lives, filled her head. She was in no position to negotiate the Thayvian's demands....If the Thayvians were to reaquire the Mythal Crystal, the result would lead to a devastating blow within the Weave all across Amia!!! Uberuce scoffed at the Red Wizard's remarks in his nonchalant manner until events took a turn for the worst.

The Thayvian proceeded to levitate a small child to the window with cutters at hand ready to snip the innocent girl's fingers. At that moment all hell broke loose as the Cordorian Knight of Law thrusted his sword into the magus, accidently hitting the child! The little girl crashed through the window as the Knight plowed the Thayvian through into the front entrance of the Orphanage. Ruce and Jaqueline were ready to follow suit but failed when the evil magus suprisingly casted a wall of stone to block off the entrance!!

Fighting and the screams of death continued within the building while outside commoners were tending to the wounded child. Jaqueline sped off to find more guards and support as events started to escalate. She found those standing in front of the temple, Krin of the Shadowflame, Defender Valari, and Chill the fey, who were eagered to lend a hand.

Uberuce began to form a strike team to enter the back of the building and deal with the Thayvian threat. Suddenly, explosions ripped through the Orphanage and pulsated throughout Cordor, sending the streets into a frenzied panic!!! With haste, the strike team began to diffuse the flames, a result from the explosions, from the building with ice storms and cones of cold. Those brave and strong enough broke their way into the Orphanage through the back windows amid the fire and smoke which had engulfed the building. Jaqueline along with Defender Valari tried their best to help but were turned back by the nauseating thick smoke along with a few others.

Events started to degrade as the building began to collapse under the weight of ice and fire with occupants still inside!! Jaqueline dodged the debris and rushed to help save any souls that might have been trapped. The escaped Uberuce along with the Cordorian Guard quickly began to orchestrate rescue teams to diffuse the burning wreckage. Jaqueline polymorphed into giant form along with others to drag heavy loads of water from the docks while others still continued to pull bodys from the wreckage....burnt children and fallen brave souls littered the street.

The efforts of Cordor's citizens and rescue teams came to fruitation with the fires coming under control and subdued. The soot covered Jaqueline breathed a sigh of relief but her small victory was shortlived. A frantic woman ran up to the weary Jaqueline screaming...

"The sewers....they are blocked off by walls of stone!!"

Jaqueline immediately rushed to the sewer entrance where indeed it was blocked off by a casted spell.

"Thayvians!!! Thayvians in the sewers!!!"
the crowd exclaimed.

Jaqueline grew furious and knew it was her duty as a future Weave Knight of Mystra to apprehend those involved with the destruction of the Orphanage. A young female magus (Nethira//sp?) spoke to Jaqueline telling her..

"Come, I know of another entrance....we must hurry!!"
she beckoned

The two magi hurriedly sprinted to the alternate entrance to the sewers. While running, Jaqueline prepared for heavy combat by pulling out her bow and quiver filled with specially made arcane arrows from her bag of holding. She grew concerned that most of her spells were wasted on the fires, praying to Mystra once more before entering the sewers with the other young woman.

The sewers were damp and chilly. The sounds of muffled screams and spoken words of arcanic nature could be heard in the distance. Jaqueline clenched her bow preparing for the worst.

"This way!!..."
The young woman yelled back.

Jaq followed her down a long corridor of stench until they fell upon another large room deep under Cordor's surface. Past the large vats used for sewage, the young magus and Jaqueline came upon a Red Wizard with a frightened young boy taken hostage from the Orphanage. The Thayvian became distracted and lost his grip of the boy who then ran down another corridor. The evil magus turned his attention to the two magi with black eyes and an intent to murder.

The young magus immediately bull rushed the Red Wizard at great speed! She nearly succeeded but her fortune ran thin when a heavy foot triggered a deadly trap the cunning Thayvian had deployed beforehand. With the trap triggered, magical lightening erupted from the ground and struck the unsuspecting woman in the chest, sending her flying into the wall!! There she laid broken and unconscious, leaving Jaqueline Fend alone with the murderous wizard.

The Red Wizard snarled at Jaqueline and let fly a deadly fireball in her direction! With lightening reflexes, she dodged the blast and threw up an elemental protection spell which took a direct hit from the magus' second fireball. Jaqueline still retaining her concentration spoke mighty words of arcane and let fly a Bigby's hand to stall her adversary! With rapid hand movements, she fired off a dozen magical arrows from her bow. The arrows pounded off the Thayvian's protection spells, each one exploding into magical dust while the Red Wizard broke free from the Bigby's hand that bound him. The enraged magus continued to evoke fireball after fireball in Jaqueline's direction, a couple landing direct hits which scorched Jaqueline's dress and skin. Jaq returned the favor by rapid firing imbued arrows of fire, a half-dozen landing home on their intended target. The Thayvian exploded backward minorly injured and continued with his onslaught on the outclassed elf.

Jaqueline took another direct hit from the wizard's fireball and fell to one knee.

"Grrr......I need to end this now!!!!" she exclaimed.

She quickly mustered her strength and manifested the most powerful enchantment spell she could cast. Magical Weave energies flowed from out of Jaqueline's hand, zapping the Red Wizard's head in one fell swoop. The evil magus fell to his knees and gripped his head as his mind was becoming subdued. Soon the wizard was docile and under Jaqueline's control. She breathed a heavy sigh of relief as reinforcements started to arrive...dispatching the murderous wretch.

Jaqueline laid there in the sewers with Defender Valari tending to her wounds..thinking to herself...

"This is only the beginning....."

Aloe, unable to have been there, listens to Lila's story in the Shrine of Eilistraee after looking for Unu, and realising Lila needs sleep, tells her to shut up and tell her later.

Lila lay in her room in Winya, mind reeling at the days events....

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Lila stood, arms crossed in the Duke's hall, glancing about the gathered people, all discussing the Thays. She had, on a whim of boredness, followed Valafein here. "I will not throw the Thayvians out, I cannot make the first move in war. But if you will all follow, we can prove that everything is fine." Duke Montgomery spoke, gesturing to the Law Knight at his side. Lila's eyes hovered on the imperator, on Haulfest, the Lawknights and the Duke. She gave a little sigh before turning and walking out with the others gathered, following the Law Knight to the Thayvians shop.
Shifting into her Black Wyrmling form, she perched on the book, listening to the Law Knight question the Thayvian while Vala softly tried to Coax the Red Wizard into giving him a key of some sort. Till finally the Wizard gave in.
"You want to know what is happening? Then follow me.." He spoke, leading them to the Orphanage. " The Orphange? What is this..?" The Law Knight spoke, glaring at the Thayvian Wizard with suspicion. The Wizard smirked. "Even you people seem to value the lesser members of your society...you will give us the Weave Stone...or we will kill them one by one. Lila gasped, digging her talons into Vala's sholder plate and whimpering "No..No..not the Orphans..."
A smirking Ruce taunted the Wizard from behind as the five trotted into the graveyard, leaving Ruce and the Lawknight with the Thayvian.
"They'll keep him busy...while we find a way in" Eary said, glancing about the area and over the back of the Orphanage.
BANG
The sound rang out through the area, straight from the Orphanage. ALANNA! Torin called out, making the gathered jump.
"Alanna?!" Vy and Lila blinked as one, before Eary shadow jumped the wall, a flying Lila, jumping Vala and Spelled up Vy followed quickly.
A huge room. Laughter. Spells. Black. .oO(Cra-
Lila stirred, opening her eyes to see Franton wide eyed and gaping above her, nudging her gently. She allowed herself to be stood up, looking down to see that...she was Completley. Utterly. Nude.
Franton passed her a dress, which she managed to drape on before sliding to the bottom of a pole, realising she couldn't move. "Thays...attacked...orphanage.." She said, coughing and closing her eyes, reopening them a few minutes later to see the Duke jogging up.
"What happened? Are you alright?"
"The Thays...they had it all planned out...they had the orphanage....We snuck in..but they were ready...they're after the weave stone..Lila explained slowly, taking deep breathes. The Duke frowned as he took it in, just as a bunch came running in, all speaking at once. The next few moments came as a blur, though one word rang out.
"Heroes."
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Ren blinked as she walked out of the nomad, glancing at the dragon statues and symboled circles in thought. .oO(Ais...Why did he bring those children back? He did not seem the type to do that..) She brushed her hair back behind her ear as she came to the crumbled remains of the Orphanage... .oO(And the Thayvians...why would they attack the other children like this? Amia truly is a strange place...the people..) She frowned, nibbling at an apple and sitting down in a corner to stare at it for a while...

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
//Note, this is just from Lila's point of view. It's not exactly what happened. It's how she remembers it.
Sometime into/after the events that took place...
---
Just above a deep pit in his secretive lair, Ais' dead eyes watch over something hidden by the darkness; a pile of muscle, bones, and blood, festering. He does this for hours, until a recognizable flapping sound makes its way to him.
The raven spoke, "Still at it?".
Ais responds, "Correct. Did you come over here to combat wits again or is there something you need to tell me?"
If the raven could've grinned, he would've, but instead answered, "Well, apparently some Thayvians went renegade in Cordor. I'm not sure what happened entirely but there's a lot of dead bodies. Thayvian and children. Seems they took hostages in the orphanage... It's all ash and bone now."
"Thayvians are so predictable. They'll always go straight for the biggest heart-lines of people to try to get their way."
The raven nodded, "I feel sorry for those kids, though. They just got pulled into the middle of it. Do you remember a similar situation when you were a brat, Leon?"
Ais remained silent for a moment. "Yes. You're talking about when that thief pilfered that mage's spellbook and tried to shell up in the orphanage I was living in, of course."
The raven seemed pleased that he recalled, adding "That's the time. He was threatening to turn you all into stone with the scrolls if they didn't let him go. I remember it so well, the way you kept your eyes on that man the entire time..."
"Yes, I recall how we met, you thrice-used beak." Ais grinned underneath of his mask.
"Ah, well, insults will get you nowhere, Leon. I recall they made it through that because you bit the man's hand enough to bleed him and then stabbing him in the leg with his own knife."
"Yes, that's right. It's how the world works. If you allow yourself to remain weak then you'll die."
The raven nodding in agreement. "Of course. But I also heard that several powerful adventurer-hero-types tried to rescue them and it still went down the way it did. I'd say those kids didn't have a chance... The scales were tipped too far in their disadvantage. I heard that one of them was a nice little girl with blue-eyes and blonde hair... The kindes--"
Ais sighed in annoyance. "You're rambling again. I know what you're getting at. Why should I get involved in Thay affairs?"
"Well, I just think you should give them another chance to have 'Their Leon' there next time."
Ais remained quiet in consideration, and then broke the silence with a verbal component, a flash of light opening a portal in front of him.
"I'm going out."
Lily Amaness, a new arrival to Cordor with her husband, Rion, saw the desolation and what is left of the orphanage. She committed to the poor woman still minding the orphans that she would assist with the rebuilding of the orphanage, and offered to help her mind the children during this terrible transition. She was horrified to learn so few children were left, but the woman seemed grateful for the proferred assistance.
Boppi goes on a 'Red Wizard' hunt. He's not entirely sure if the men are Thay Wizards..
Or even wizards at all...
Perhaps they were just farmers.
*Sefris is sturggling with her own feeling. She's happy that the Thayvians wizards, her personally most hated 'foes', are finally banned from cordor. However she's sad that it had to wait so long until they burned the Orphanage.*
Quar'Agh watched the fire burn down the orphange from a safe distance.
His wrinkled, old face went into a hard frown as he heard the children scream from the burning building.
"Noisy brats! Stop that racket!"
As spells of ice storm put out the flames but helped the building to further collapse the roof on top of the screaming children, Quar'Agh heaved a sigh of relief.
"Finally, those screaming wretches have ceased. Excellent idea, using the ice storms to shut those vermin up for good!"
