Wanted: Caravan Guards

Merchant caravan requires approximately six trained warriors to guard it through dangerous territory. Guards are expected to supply all of their own equipment, and will be paid 10,000 gold coins per head upon delivery of cargo to destination. Usual bonuses for timely delivery and penalties for lost or damaged cargo apply.

Caravan leaves at [time/date]. Interested parties should meet in front of Gabigathol's Brewery at this time to be selected for employment. Preference will be given to prospective hirees that bring a diversity of skills to the company.

This quest requires a lot of setup, so we'll start setting it up immedately after a reset. It is scheduled to begin at least half an hour after the first reset after 2pm EST (Timezone helper: http://www.amiaworld.net/about/time.php). A party of six players, recommend level 15-25, will be chosen from whomever is ready to go at Gabigathol's at this time. Players will be first selected to acquire a variety of classes and skills (favoring those with some RP skills), and secondarily by lottery. Cheezy nonsensical powerbuilds may or may not be ignored, depending on my mood at the time. Don't expect much combat, so hack n' slashers need not apply. Most importantly, DO NOT SHOW UP UNLESS YOU INTEND TO ABIDE BY DM AUTHORITY AND CAN INVEST SEVERAL HOURS.

Abiding by DM authority includes all of the following, plus whatever else common sense dictates:
No respawning, or you're out of the event.
No use of portal rods, or likewise.
No doing anything the DM says you do not have the ability to do.
No whining about DM decisions, penalties, or death.
No attacking things simply because you can metagame a red aura.
No metagaming, period.
No playing the "Chaotic Stupid" alignment.

If you have no objections to any of the above, I'll leave the topic open for now, for anyone to post their IC reactions or ask OOC questions. If you want to debate any of the policies of this quest, please don't bother - these are not server rules, these are my event rules, and you need not take part in it if you disagree with them.

Anyway, this was an awesome event! Definetely the longest I've ever been in lasting for 8 hours for me. Horace didn't disappoint me this time either, it certainly was worth the time. Huge thanks to all you who participated, I haven't had that much fun in a while.

I agree, it was a blast...while I was there. Inexplicably, my cable connection went dead, and after calling the company, I found out that the extreme heat here knocked out the cable for this area. Somehow. It just came back on. My sincere apologies for suddenly vanishing right in the middle of everything. It was a freak thing to happen, but yes, it was a blast while I was there.
