Two pairs of green eyes looked out across the Plane of Shadow. Months upon months, builders poured out their souls recreating their once-prosperous city from the ashes of destruction the dragon only known as Deepeningdoom had inflicted upon them. And now it was complete! Daggerscape no more; Shadowscape was made in its place, harsher and darker than before, and destined to become even more prosperous!

Time had taken its toll upon the builders. They came to the building site with free hearts and strong bodies, only to finish with weary mind and weak body. But it was of no concern; the time was well spent.

The two pairs of green eyes hopped down from their position above the city wall, down into the docks. A lone solider turned to face the eyes and their owners, with caution upon his features. One pair of eyes spoke; a male voice:

"Commander Merrick, finally we meet again. Are the preparations complete?"

The lone solider, Commander Merrick of Shadowscape, sighed in relief.

"You had given me quite a fright there, my friend! Aye, the city is complete, and ready to be opened for all to visit."

The owners of that pair of eyes nodded, and way along his way past the city gates, the other pair of eyes walking along with him. They came to the main city gates, two huge, hulking figures of shadow guarding either side. The owner of the other pair of eyes spoke; this time female:

"Finally, what a wait this was! Boring work this is going to be for you, madam nightwing."

The nightwing in question, the hulking figure, simply bowed solemnly to female owner of the eyes, and let the two travellers along their way.

Pushing open the gate, a magnificent site greeted those eyes; a teeming, busy merchant city, filled with visitors and citizens walking along their way. The female pair of eyes looked up; no sky was present, simply a cold, empty blanket of darkness that swept down upon the entirety of the Shadow plane. She looked back down, shivering lightly.

Acid dripped ominously off each guard's scythe as they patrolled, keeping wary of any trouble. To their west a huge inn, with many different types of strange drinks, and even stranger customers. To the further west was a nature preserve with all manners of creatures, both dangerous and friendly. To the east was a temple, a beacon of light among the darkness of the city. To the north, many waterfalls ran down the walls, and carried on as streams, the soft lapping of the water strangely soothing amongst the eternal void of Shadowscape.

Finally, a place to settle for them, to protect, and guard. The two pairs of green eyes stepped away, drawing the shadow of the plane around them like a cloak, and within a blink of the eye, they were gone.

Daggerscape was reborn anew as Shadowscape, and at last, open for any and all.
