Commander Paz'kole cursed and barked orders at the incompetent guards, as the battle raged. The surfacers must be driven out of the city, at any cost.

After the scum backed out from the city, the guards hauled heave blocks at the gates and sealed it shut. The drow would be ready and waiting, again.

Kron wakes from his bunk as the screams of battle travel in trough night air. He can smell the faint aroma of blood and sweat from the far off battle, "war" he growls in a low deep satisfied pitch. He staps up and awaits for orders to reach him.

Vith! It had been all too easy until now. The capture of those two, defeating the greatest mage of the surface known as the Hellbard, and the sacrifice itself. They had given an aasimar an a half-breed whore dancer to the Goddess.
Kir'nack had just pierced Valkirya on a tree-branch outside of Cordor, when a party of powerful surfacers appeared. Time to run like vith, it was! He ran, and ran, stopped when they surrounded him, summoned magical darkness and ran. Suddenly one of the surfacers was infront of him! And the dragon was still following him. Suddenly he was trapped inside a rock!

Apparently the surfacers settled with just killing the jaluk in Arabett colours, and with the expensive help of someone he was soon back in house Arabett.

"She has been delivered, Ilharess"
"Bwael. We will send her amulet to their shrine, along with her heart", replied Aluziria. Kir'nack was very happy with this.

Later someone banged on the door, and Kir'nack stepped into the city to find out what it was about. The city gate had been barricaded, and the Ul'athallar was speaking something about surface intruders! What was this? The wench hadn't lied about her friends avenging her then? Unfortunately the action had seized before Kir'nack and later the rest of Arabett arrived onto the scene.

Later Kir'nack is seen questioning certain guards, and even speaking with commander Paz'kole.
"Over twenty guards and multiple Sacred Children of the Goddess.." He glances at the spiders that still inhabit the streets, anger building up inside of him towards the surface filth that dared to cut down those blessed creatures and hi-.. ehem, the city's guards. "Oh, this is just the beginning. They -will- pay. They have disturbed the lair of the mightiest force, the deepest hate on Toril. But first, time to deliver that heart and the necklace.." Kir smirks, and goes to find someone who could lead him to the shrine.

"Fall back!"

The paladin's voice echoed through the sounds of battle in the centre of Ultrinnan, fallen Vanguards and spiders covering the ground all the way from the gates, together with a few drow citizens. The lifeless bodies of the Cordorian Guard Captain Earylduil Zyrustain and the self-proclaimed Hellbard Casper Meche were carried by the severely bleeding lieutenant Shinkicker of the Cordorian Guard, and the gnome wizard Mirhûn Thinker. Another guard, Nimien Aluun, had been raised again only moments before, and staggering followed them, together with Enelya of the Shadowflame house. They all were severely injured in one or another way, with the exception of Enelya, who did her best to aid in the battle from the ethereal plane.

With Paz'kole furiously barking orders behind them, they made their way out through the city gates either invisible or in the ethereal, and gathered around in the Lu'Spir. With the aid of the cleric Nimien, they tended to their wounds, accompanied by the continuous muttering of the paladin. He had all reasons in the world to be angered, since the drow house of Arabett in a surprise raid had caught the woman that had been his wife for only a few days. When he found out, together with the others that were with him now, he did not delay longer then necessary before coming down here... despite his knowledge of how foolish it was. For the first time since many years hatred was burning in him, hatred against those who were waiting on the other side of the gates of Ultrinnan.

No doubts could ever have held them back when they prepared for their second assault against the city of the drow, as Casper expressed it, the lives of friends and beloved ones were threatened. Bathing themselves in enchantments and divine light, they were a force that even Paz'kole would have troubles with in a second fight. A silver dragon, summoned from a unknown place, and they were prepared to free Valkirya and Jiharu, not knowing if they even were still alive. Focused on their task ahead, they stepped through the opening that would lead them through the town, to their fight, and the ones they sought for.

If the gates of Ultrinnan were not blocked by massive boulders.

"Cowardous... treacherous... filth!"

"It's a full wall barrier. We can't get through. We'll have to retreat, if we don't want to get flanked." Earylduil stated after a long discussion whether to try to breach the gates or not. Since any attempt to do so would have been futile, most of the others agreed, and summoned forth a few portals. With a long glare against the town that kept his beloved one away from him, Raziel stepped through his portal, back to Cordor, to find aid. As he stepped out into the sunlight lying on the golden gates of the Temple of Waukeen, he lowered his head. No light could have made him feel any better, he had suffered both loss and defeat within hours. There were no tears in his eyes, but if hearts could cry, his would.

"Is here ~noone~ willing to burn down the lair of the drow filth?"

A few commoners looked at the angered man with surprise, then turned away again... since he obviously was an insane. Mebrie'wiel and Wing looked over at him from the sign they were leaning against, their confusion rising a little when Earylduil, Boy and Mirhûn, all bleeding severely, stepped out of the temple behind Raziel. They were a miserable view, a defeated band of brothers who had gone to fight in anger, without thought, without much planning. Again the paladin yelled his question, and almost scared away the raven that was bearing a message for him. Despite his anger, he tolerated the bird settling down on his shoulder to deliver the parchment attached to its leg. Raziel read it through quickly, and dropped both bird and parchment. Without looking back, he stormed out through the city gates of Cordor, aiming for the Amia Forest Grove.

He never made it further then down the first part of the hill leading to the outlying farms. A small crowd, barely visible from the edge of his eyes, gained his attention. Especially the flowing, ivory white hair forming a sharp contrast against the dark skin and the clear, green eyes of Valkirya. She was surrounded by the ever caring Salandran Sina, and the drow ranger Valas. Without caring much about those he shoved out of his way on his way to the one he thought he had lost, he approached her in disbelief. The last few metres he went slowly, hearing the running footsteps of Earylduil and others behind him, ignoring their approach. As Valkirya let out a sob, he took the final steps and wrapped his metal-clad arms around his fiancée, letting her head rest against his bloodstained chest.

"I'm sorry... I was careless, I should have known..."

"Val, don't.. The Arabetts are the ones who should be sorry, and they will, I promise you that."

After a few minutes they turned to the others, since almost everyone was glad to see Valkirya back amidst them again, and endlessly relieved. A few spectators who had no clue about what was going on were watching as well, making the crowd outside the gates of Cordor unecessarily large. Valkirya was tired from what she had gone through, and so were they all.
"Take me home..." she said after a while, almost pleading him to take him away from all the questions, the memories they caused to her. Ignoring anyone who was watching them he opened a portal back to Kohlingen, and after giving a slight nod, he carried Valkirya through it... Back to their home, where they were safe for the time being.

He knew he'd make sure some others wouldn't be safe in their home... ever again.

Valas was in Cordor talking to Shania, when a halfling rushed in screaming something about a drow attack. Along with some others, Valas rushed after him to find a gruesome sight. Valkirya pierced on a tree, her heart torn out, and a drow in the colors of the Arrabets standing next to her. He made a run for it, they took up the chase, until he put a globe of darkness on the area. When it wore of, the sudden sunlight blinded Valas once again. When he recovered, everyone but the halfling was gone. Valas went back to Valkiryas body and stayed there while the halfling rushed off to find the others. He was about to take her to the temple when the others returned. They caught the drow and dumped him in the swamps. They tried to help Valkirya, and some questionable methods of healing (involving a goblin heart and Kravens tome) were halted when Sina the Salandran appeared on the scene. She was able to bring Valkirya back to life. She was quite confused. She said that two others were with her, Jiharu and a "kid that is on flame". As the group was thinking about their next course of action, they meat the rescue group that just returned from Ultrinaan. Some explainations took place, and Valas made his way to the badhouses to wash of the blood.

.oO(What they did to me...the Grove...Mel and Anandra...Bendir dale...Valkirya...countless others... And worst of all, they made me bathe! I won't tolerate this any longer! They will pay for it all, this swear I, Valas Syamin.)

It was a day like every other when she was on guard duty: dull moments alternating with moments where rebellious citizens or newly arrived ones wouldn't know or didn't care to know the law and would break it, causing her and the other guards to talk them out of that situation.

After a few hours of work, she got out of the city, massaging her throat (recalling the moment, few hours earlier, when she tried to talk to one of those prisoners after he was jailed by Earylduil and Nimien) and the prisoner took her by surprise and tried to strangle her. She broke free of the attempt after a few seconds, and left the jail feeling hopeless because she didn't succeed in helping him.

Outside, she caught sight of a faerie and, thinking she could be her friend, Chill, she approached her, only to hear her asking the help of a kid to help her raise her friends, fallen in battle, back to life. The kid didn't hesitate on ask Valkirya's aid, recognizing her as a guard, but the kid didn't need to. She was half-faerie herself after a curse and she had at least four faerie friends. Without hesitation, she followed the faerie to Cordor's Western frontier, where the faerie disappeared. Jiharu had followed them there and while they searched the faerie, a sword slashed at her back. Taken aback, she turned to see, cloaked with an invisibiity spell (and lucky enough she had a True Seeing spell on her), a fully armed woman. But as she turned her back, another attack came.

Jiharu called out for her and Valkirya turned in time to see the kid being slain and two dragons appearing: a silver and a red one. The red dragon was an impressive and intimidating sight and as she armed herself, she couldn't help but back away... only to be slain by the woman.

She only remembered coming back to life to find herself chained on an altar at a chapel that was, undoubtedly, to Lolth. Jiharu was staring at her, unable to move, being held tight by a Drow male, a blade close to her throat.

Then, the Drowess came in front of Valkirya, spreading her arms in front of the statue of the Spider Queen. Valkirya felt the statue's eyes on her as if the Spider Queen, indeed, was there. But she wouldn't please the Spider Queen nor the Drowess by showing them fear or pain: she kept her light green eyes locked on the Drowess's, an ever defiant look burning on them. An Arabett, from what she could gather from the colors of her robe.

"You're all crazy..." Valkirya said, not being intimidated by the Spider Queen's servant, since she had the blessings of the Dark Maiden. "You have no idea who you are messing with."

The Drowess proceeded with her chanting, completely ignoring Valkirya's words, even though they were being spoken in perfect Drow. The Drowess merely looked at her without mercy on her eyes and a fanatic glint of pleasure on them that made Valkirya shudder slightly despite herself. She looked at Jiharu, who was also raised, and forced to watch the sacrifice.

"You won't stand a chance against my friends!" Valkirya said, her eyes darting from Jiharu to the Drowess, to the Ceremonial Dagger in front of her, dripping blood, the smell so strong it was almost nauseating. The Drowess started raising the blade above Valkirya's chest, blood dripping from it and on her. She got scared, but she attempted to hide it by frowning. Then the Drowess let the blade sink near her heart, slowly cutting around it.

The pain Valkirya felt was nothing like the pain those Drow Hunters made her feel. She tried to hide it again by concentrating on summoning Daos, but the pain was too much, messing up her concentration. She winced, doing her best not to scream in pain. She looked back at Jiharu, looking at her, a flame so strong on her eyes that, if she wasn't with a blade on her throat, she would probably made holy fire fall down on the Drows.

Another pang, stronger this time, made Valkirya look back at the Drowess, her eyes glinting sadistically as Valkirya saw her cutting out her heart. She could feel her own blood dripping from her wound and saw scarlet streams flowing on the altar.

"You--" Valkirya tried to speak, but she couldn't. She watched as the Drowess took her heart out, still pulsing slightly, still held by a single vein, her life slowly fading. She bit her lip. She wouldn't scream, neither would she take her eyes from the Drowess: she kept staring defiantly at her, the life on her eyes following her last heartbeats, fading with them. "Take my soul on your hands before the Spider Queen do it, my Dear Dark Maiden, please." She thought, her eyes locked on the Drowess's as she finally felt her life slip away, the defiant look frozen on her face.

------

//a bit big from here, since I kinda transcripted the chatlog. >.>

She was wandering through the plane between life and death, her hand clutching at her chest. Suddenly, an invisible hook tugged at her soul. For a few moments, she was confused, blinded by a light she couldn't identify. She gasped, clutching at her chest, a familiar face looking down at her, helping her up.

"What..? Where...?" She asked, confused, to Sina, a Salandran healer. She also noticed Valas and a few others she didn't have a clue who were.

Her mind was racing, confusing her. And as Valas told her how he found her, she remembered what happened. Again, she took her hand to her chest, feeling for wounds, feeling for her heart. She noticed her Guard robe tore at her chest and she held both pieces closed. Frowning, still not able to organize her thoughts, she could hardly speak.

Sina took her back to Cordor, Valkirya, seemingly on shock, talking to her about heading back for Jiharu and the kid. As they talked, just after entering the outer gates, some of her thoughts started making sense. She asked about Jiharu, the kid and Raziel. They didn't know about Jiharu, but the kid was safe and Raziel seemed to have stormed to Ultrinnan together with other of her friends.

Then Boy came out of town and met them. She couldn't to anything but apologize for being tricked and having been captured by the Arabetts. Boy was speechless, and seeing that she was growing restless, Sina tried to calm her down, talking to her. Then, she saw Raziel, pushing both Boy and Valas away, carelessly, making his way to her, embracing her ever so tightly. She started crying.

"Raz... I'm sorry... She was shapeshifted..." She sobbed. "And now Jiharu and the kid may be down there..." She said as Raziel embraced her gently, having her rest her head against his chest.

"Don't.. I should have stayed with you after we left the prison." He said, resting his chin on her head. "The child is safe"

Wiping some of her tears, Valkirya looked up at him. "And Jiharu?"

"We tried.. Twice we tried to breach their defensens.. We made it to the main portal, nothing more.. If Jiharu is down there, we can't reach her. They have blocked the city entrance.."

"You... so much trouble... are you hurt? Is everyone safe...?"

"She needs to rest right now. Let's get her within the inner walls." Said Sina, worried.

"We fought dozens of guards... All of us were hurt, but we're fine..."

"A report.." She said as if not hearing Raziel, and looking at Sina. "They could attack again.."

"Val, no reports... Not yet..." Insisted Raziel.

"But... we don't have--" She stopped upon noticing Eary. "Eary!" She said, growing even more restless. "The Arabetts. Their colors."

"Valkirya?" Blinked Eary, his shirt ripped open, bloodied bandages beneath. "You're alright?"

"Val.... thank th' Gods!" Said Casper before she could answer.

"I know it was them, Val, I know."

"Reports are what matter least now." Insisted Raziel.

"I'm sorry Eary... I couldn't see, she was shifted..." Valkirya started all over again. "She took Jiharu too... And the kid.. I don't know about him.."

"Right..." Said Eary, sighing deeply, noticing her restlessness. "You're alright, that's all that matters."

"She tricked me.." Valkirya kept going on her report. "I should've arrested her.. She caught me by surprise..."

"What did she do? What did she say?" Asked Nimien.

"A sacrifice... " She told, absently taking her hand to her chest.

"Gods cursed Spider Kissers've asked for it now..." said Casper.

"She took my heart... but I... I didn't cry and tried not to seem in pain." Said, wincing upon remembering the pain.

Raziel embraced her again, giving what comfort he could at the moment, not caring about the feelings he had against the Drow anymore, since Valkirya was already there with him.

"Jiharu was taken after me... I think she's still down there.." Valkirya started again.

"I'm..." Eary started, coughing some blood into his hand. " "...going to get some rest... Maybe a night at the salandrans... heh.."

"You're hurt, Eary!" Valkirya said, worried, as if noticing that only now.

"I ought to go there aswell.. My shoulder hurts." Echoed Nimien.

"We're all kinda battered." Said Casper, chuckling

"And noone died for the cause... Like Earyldol..uil.. said" Said Raziel, his tiredness as evident as their friends's.

"You... All of you." Valkirya started crying again, looking at each one of her friends, badly hurt, bloodied and dirty, making her own problems and pains seem nothing near theirs. "I'm sorry... so much trouble..."

"Val, don't.. the Arabetts are going to be sorry, not you.."

"That's 'nough of that." Added Casper, in agreement with Raziel's words. "Anyone that went down there went 'cause they wanted to."

"Nothin' to be sorry fo--" Added Eary, also, coughing strongly. "--for."

"Maybe you should get some rest, yeah?" Said Casper to Eary, but the same advice worked for everyone at that moment.

Valkirya nodded some, resting her head on Raziel's chest, crying silently.

Eary looked between Raziel and Valkirya, turning on his heel.
"Take care everyone..."

Still there, Sina looked at them, concerned.

"Be safe, Eary!" Said Nimien.

Valas, Mirhun and Raziel nodded at Eary.

"Take care" Said Valkirya, still crying silently against Raziel's chest.

"Will do" Grunted Eary, holding his chest. "Take care.."

As everyone stood there, still uncertain on their next step, Raziel took Valkirya's face on his hand, making her look at him.

"Val.. I'll take you wherever you want to go to rest.. the Shrine, the Nomad.."

"Just... take me home Raz..." Valkirya asked, tired, hugging him.

"Home it is then... " Said Raziel, opening a portal next to them, taking Valkirya on his arms and stepping into it mumbling something about knowing exaclty who's gonna be sorry.

//I know I'm late to add Val's part. Sorry guys. >.<

Thamian Everstar comes across this information, and heads off, nearly immediately.

Where he goes is unknown. He is neither in Kohlingen, nor the Shrine. Sendings are not replied to. The only clue anyone may come across is:
A note within the House Claddath desk. (will post on other forums)
And a note posted on his room door in the Hall of Defenders:
Quote:
Hunting. Back soon. Don't worry.
- Thamian

Wiggan walked through the streets of Cordor, looking for Chill, who was standing, not in her usual small from over by Haur's Forge.

"Have you seen Valkirya?"

"No I haven't. I haven't seen her in some days," Chill replied.

"Hmm.. I haven't either. It's not like her go disappear like that except the last time she did that - I am worried about her."

"I don't know where she is, Wiggan. You could ask Boy though." Chill responded.

Wiggan sat and idly talked with Chill for awhile about Thamian and his strange note left in the desk, and about the half-dragon creature that would come to know what "Claddath" means.

"There's Boy now!" Chill said.

Wiggan walked over to him, a bit frustrated. "Hiya Boy! Have you seen Valkirya?"

"Um... no.. I haven't." Boy answered.

"Do you know where she is? Please.. .I'm really worried about her." Wiggan inquired.

"Hmmm... Um... No... I don't." Boy stammered a bit. Wiggan caught a suspicious glimpse of discomfort in his eye, but decided yes, he was in fact trustworthy. "Perahps Eary knows something? Or Raziel for sure."

Wiggan then took off and went hunting, and upon returning to Cordor, found Eary.

"Eary? Have you seen Valkirya?"

Eary shifted uncomfortably. "No, I haven't seen her in awhile."

"How odd. I thought you saw her frequently. Really? You have no idea where she is?" Wiggan asked again.

"I'm sorry Wiggan, I don't."

Wiggan returned to the Shrine, planning a trip to Kholingen to make some inquiries. She thought of the seed in Eary's pocket... how he had kept it out of curiosity after all, and laughed a bit. "Well... he is acting a bit odd... at least now I can find him."

Einar pondered grimly over the things he had learnt and written down in his journal. Since being disowned by his father and exiled from his home, he had spent a dozen years wandering ever southwards, picking up valuable experiences as he stopped in each different land. Amia felt different, though. Weeks spent there had yielded the usual: hunting with new acquaintances, mostly, and occasionally a drink and some storytelling. But upon learning about the struggles between the Drow and the Defenders, he suddenly realised that this place had deeper, darker secrets than he had ever noticed in any other land before.

The two people he had met who seemed to know a slave of the Drow, calling themselves Lisa and Liam (though occasionally they stumbled and said 'Kul...liam' as if forgetting his name) had taught him something of the vicious ways of the Drow, how they treated their slaves. And then when he spoke to Raziel, he had been shocked at how much this paladin had suffered lately. Einar had great respect for one of such moral fibre as to continue, and wondered if, in the same position, he could act with such nobility.

So as he wondered about his place in it all, how he had, of his own accord, promised Raziel his sword if ever Kohlingen called for his help, he did not think that it was wonderful that he had finally found some direction in his sorry life. He thought how frightening that his own resolve was so moved to swear aid to far greater men, and how he would survive it all. Einar had broken no oath yet, and whatever they may say about releasing him, he could never forgive himself. So when the time comes, when the Defenders call on his name, he will be there to help however he can, even if it is merely to stitch up wounds in a stuffy tent while the other men fight.

Wiggan's body, tired and restless, lay propped up against the doorframe to the room in which Valkirya and Raziel were sleeping. Her eyes half open in trance, she whispered quietly, the disturbed thoughts of her night visions.

Are you alone Wiggan....

She winced. Her face twitched. Struggling against the vision and deeper reverie she thought of Valkirya. Why had she not known? Why had nobody told her? Eary said they hadn't in order to protect themselves. As if she couldn't keep secrets within her own house?

Are you alone Wiggan....

She saw Sharina lifting Onir off the ground.. of an armored drow standing twin bladeed and guarded before Thamian, beside her... of Cal's face.. of Raisa.... Ravena gone... Willow's sorrow...

Are you alone Wiggan....

The voice kept piercing her vision as something she couldn't shake, In her reverie she clutched her elbows and trembled. No... No... I have my family. No.... No....

Are you alone Wiggan....

Valkirya... Valkirya are you alright? Where are you? I can't see you.... Valkirya? Sister? Mmmm? Please tell me where is my Sister! Why had Eary not told her? Why!!!

Are you alone Wiggan....

Nemora! She gasped in her sleep... Where are you? My sister! They have you and I don't have it.. I don't know what to do!!!

Late into the morning Wiggan fitfully slept, curled up in a little ball, outside of Raziel's room. On the cold floor she shivered, an utter wreck - tired and exhausted.

Until.......

//Here we go, then, Nekhy ^-^

Daos woke up suddenly. He didn't know why, but he quickly looked around the room. Raziel was asleep and Valkirya was nowhere to be seen, though the door was slightly open. Worried, he called Raziel to wake up and after a few moments of confusion, Raziel noticed that Valkirya wasn't there anymore. Both of them ran to the door, but as soon as Daos flew by, he stopped.

Sleeping on the floor, curled up in a ball, was Wiggan. There was a faerie sleeping, cuddled on Wiggan's arms.

Daos looked at Raziel, looking at both women, then Daos looked back at them and both he and Raziel stared at each other, completely at a loss to what to do.

Then, as if realization came to both men at the same time, both looked back at the faerie, saying, at the same time:
"The shock!"

"It made her shift." Nodded Raziel, asking, a bit confused. "And Wiggan... what is she doing here?" He looked at Daos as if expecting a reply, but the dragon was staring at them both. Raziel made a sort of dismissive gesture and walked closer to Wiggan's asleep body, raising her from the floor. "I'll take her to a warm bed. Take Valkirya."

Daos nodded and flew down, carefully picking Valkirya up on his talons. She didn't wake up. She mumbled something unintelligible and rubbed her nose, holding on to Daos's talons as if embracing them.

"Stay close to me today, please. Both of you." Said Valkirya on the night of the day she was brought back to life after the sacrifice to Lolth. He should have expected something like the shifting, she was wandering through the Defenders Halls as if a ghost would wander through his home.

He looked down at the faerie, Valkirya's features fitting prettily on that tiny face. He was always under the impression that, on her faerie form, she was prettier. "Must be because of their essence..." He said, watching as Raziel put Wiggan on the bed and covered her with the sheets.

"She must've been pretty tired." Said Raziel looking at the Drow. "She didn't seem to notice... or care... that I picked her up."

"Same here." Said Daos, sighing. "I think that Wiggan was worried about Valkirya. It has been a long time since the last time Valkirya visited Wiggan at the Shrine. Wiggan was probably trying to find a way to inquire someone about her sudden absence."

"I'll talk to Wiggan about what happened as soon as she wakes up." He said, taking Valkirya from Daos's talons and placing her on the pillow beside Wiggan, also covering her with the sheets. "Mystra help me..." Sighed Raziel, leaving the room, motioning for Daos to follow him.

"And Bahamut..." He added to Raziel's words.
